hey! well, if you're in melbourne, maybe roti can have a playmate!
It's pretty gruelling to teach them to stop nipping, when i first got roti she bit till it bled and went for the fatty areas which hurt the most!
Just pinch her/him on the scruff of their neck (like how a mother cat picks up her kittens) and hiss at her and say no. Keep her in that way until she yawns and then put her down.
Yawning is a sign of submission for ferrets. So they yawn when they give in.
I flick her chin sometimes too when she really doesnt get the point of not biting, and when she doesnt bite for a day, i reward her with a jellybean (too much sugar is bad for ferrets)
So now she's fully trained, doesn't need her cage, is toilet trained and sleeps with us on the bed when she sees us asleep.
they're the bestest pets!
add me on msn if you have any other questions ya! aresha@mediacorpmail.com
also, you might think of desexing them (females need it or they'll die of anaemia, males will smell less and behave less bitey), biting is common, you just need to make it less painful and less frequent.
take care! happy ferreting. ;)
